Advocacy

Advocacy of the industry’s aims and developments represents one of the ASA’s core undertakings. More specifically, the Association is guided towards the achievement of the following advocacy objectives:

  • To engage, review and develop agreed industry positions on the Federal Greenhouse Gas Policy response.
  • To advocate for the recognition of the greenhouse gas emissions from the use of ISS
  • To advocate for nationally-consistent legislation, policy and standards which recognise the true value of iron and steel slag materials and likewise, seek to remove any barriers to such an endeavour.

In striving towards these goals, the Association has undertaken - and continues to undertake – various programs, consultations and initiatives centred around the development of these core objectives.
