The Hon Bob Baldwin MP
Bob Baldwin is the Federal Member for Paterson in NSW and was sworn in as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Industry, Tourism and Resources on 27 January 2006. Up until this appointment, Bob was the Chairman of the Joint
Standing Committee on Public Accounts and Audit and was the Chairman of the Blackspot Road Funding Committee in NSW. Bob brings to the portfolio vast experience in operating a small business and working with industry. |

Dr Matthias Krups
Dr. Matthias (Matt) Krups is Chairman and CEO of the BCI Group of Companies, the leading construction media group in Asia Pacific. With BCI Asia and BCI Australia, the group operates more than 20 offices in Southeast Asia, Greater China and Australia. BCI is a community organiser for the region’s construction industries, providing magazines, information systems, events, project leads and consultancy services. |

Dr Glenn Albrecht
taking Glenn Albrecht is Associate Professor in the School of Environmental and Life Sciences at the University of Newcastle, NSW. He has a PhD in philosophy, and coordinates and teaches a number of courses in undergraduate and post-graduate degrees within a transdisciplinary environmental-development sustainability context. Dr Albrecht has sat on the State Council for Environmental Education (as a representative of all NSW Universities) and (until late 2003) the Newcastle City Council Environmental Advisory Panel. He has been involved in undergraduate and postgraduate conservation projects in the Hunter region and state-wide. |

Peter Poulet
Peter is Assistant Government Architect. He has 18 years experience in design, documentation and construction. His experience is in both the public and private sectors in Australia and overseas. Peter undertakes a design review role within the GAO to promote design quality and sustainability. Key projects that Peter has been involved in include the Coffs Harbour Education Campus Manly Hydraulics Laboratory, National Environment Centre and the Year of the Built Environment

S. Evan Weiner
S. Evan Weiner is Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of Edw. C Levy Co. Edw C Levy Co is a partner in a mini-conglomerate that is a vertically integrated construction materials company
specialising in road construction and materials manufacturing. The company also serves 20 steel mills in North America, Australia, and Thailand, with a series of steel mill services that primarily recycle by-products of steel and iron making. The company is a growing enterprise that promotes involvement and investment in the communities in which it works. |

Prof Alan Pears
Alan Pears is an Adjunct Professor at RMIT University and Director of Environmental Consultancy Sustainable Solutions. Alan has a long history of involvement in green building at a policy, regulatory and practical level. Pears co-wrote the
Australian Conservation Foundation Green Home Guidelines in 1992, Australia’s first environmental building guidelines. He was on the steering committee for development of the energy requirements for the Building Code Environmental
and Consultancy of Australia and played a key role in the original development of the Australian Building Greenhouse Rating Scheme. Alan has also helped to develop the Australian Government’s Energy Efficiency Opportunities program for major industries. |

James Trezona
James Trezona is the Senior Project Engineer - Structure with Lend Lease design, the engineering and architecture service unit within construction company Bovis Lend Lease (BLL). BLL is one of the top five largest project management and construction companies in the world, with 600 projects and over $50 billion currently under management. BLL prides itself on achieving excellence in sustainability with the construction industry. James has a background in consulting structural engineering and at BLL is responsible at a national level for providing structural engineering support. Roles include design management, value engineering, buildability assessments and strategic procurement. |

Bruce Fenton
Bruce Fenton has over 20 years experience in roads and pavements, predominantly with the RTA. Bruce is currently the Bituminous Surfacing Manager since July 2004. His role involves developing and disseminating sprayed sealing technology throughout NSW. He has responsibility for maintaining RTA specifications and guides, providing technical advice, undertaking research and development and providing training. Bruce has presented papers on pavements topics. Bruce has previously worked in the slag industry in the Technical Marketing of pavement materials for Australian Steel Mill Services.

Andrew Walker-Morison
Andrew Walker-Morison is Manager of the Sustainable Materials program at the Centre for Design at RMIT University, which is responsible for developing tools and research to assist design and decision-making in the built environment. An architect by background, Andrew's work has included commercial development of Ecospecifier, leading Australia's first major review of building materials impacts for the Federal Government in 2006, and is currently assisting the development of an LCA-based decision-making tool for improved decision-making, stakeholders for which include the Green Building Council of Australia. Andrew also coordinates the well-regarded two-day intensive "Green Building and Design Course" which runs each year in Melbourne and Sydney. |

Nick Jones
Slag Business Development Manager - MultiServ
Responsible for the coordination and development of the slag business, across the MultiServ group. Nick started as a laboratory technician at Steelphalt; a company owned by MultiServ, which specialises in the manufacture of steel slag asphalt products. As the asphalt industry in the UK progressed he became involved in material development and design and eventually used this knowledge to develop the slag business across the group. Nick is a member of the Institute of Asphalt Technology , the Institute of Highway and Transportation, the UK Quarry Products Association Slag Group and past convenor of the road making materials working group of "Euroslag", the European Slag Association.

Paul Graham
Paul Graham has 20 years experience in the construction industry including technical strengths in sustainable design and all facets of building services as well as broader skills in engineering and design management. Paul's expertise has been gained through a diversity of projects such as: the CSIRO Energy Centre NSW; Westfield shopping centre redevelopments at Doncaster, Plenty Valley and Geelong and the 6 Green Star South Australian Water Corporation Headquarters project. Paul is a Green Star Accredited Professional and has led teams on many green building projects, improving sustainability and building value

Justin Moss
Materials Technology RTA NSW
Justin is a Materials Technologist with RTA Pavements Section. He has over 20 years experience in the investigation, assessment and specification of materials used in civil engineering infrastructure projects. His role at the RTA is to provide specialist advice on road pavement and subgrade materials, including test methods and quality control and assurance. This role supports both flexible and rigid pavement technology within the Pavements Section and Rigid Pavements, Flexible Pavements, and Pavement Design units. |

Warren Smith
Warren is the General Manager of Stabilised Pavements of Australia Pty Ltd and has more than 30 years of experience in pavement design and construction. For over 25 years Warren has worked specifically in the stabilisation and rehabilitation industry. He has had significant input into the ongoing introduction of new technologies in both stabilisation equipment and additive fields. Warren is now one of Australia 's most experienced and well versed Engineers in the fields of stabilisation and road rehabilitation, and as such is frequently involved in seminars and workshops with State and Local Government Authorities, Consultants and other interested groups throughout Australia and other parts of the world including Europe and Asia. Warren has also been directly involved in stabilisation and recycling operations in the Pacific Rim, throughout Asia and in the UK. |

David Moorhead
David Moorhead is Senior Materials Scientist with Arup. David has a PhD, Chemical Technology, University of NSW , an MSc, Chemical Technology, from the University of NSW and a Dip. App. Chem. from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. David is a member of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute and is on the Standards Committee (ACSE Rep) BD10 Cement, BD42 Concrete Testing, BD44 Fixing of Ceramic Tiles, and a member of the BRC Steering Committee, High Strength Concrete as well as an Affiliate Member of the Australian Concrete Repair Association. Dr Moorehead has written the concrete specifications for some major projects that include; the Wandoo Concrete Gravity Structure in Western Australia, the tunnel sections of the New Southern Railway the Sydney Opera house basements and Walsh Bay development in Sydney. The design and testing of concretes to resist the ingress and attack of chloride and sulphate in marine and other environment has been a major task in the construction of these and other concrete specifications. Additionally David undertakes a range of investigative projects and is closely involved in the preparation of maintenance programmes for new and existing structures. In this capacity he has lead some research aimed at the development of a cement with a much reduced eco- footprint. |

Daksh Baweja
Daksh Baweja, BE Hons , MEngSc., PhD., FIE Aust , CP Eng is Principal Engineer for Readymix (part of the Rinker Group). He is actively involved in knowledge management, marketing and commercial R&D in the concrete technology, construction and structural design areas. Part of his work covers joint supervision of about 20 PhD, research masters and undergraduate students in Civil Engineering at most major Universities in Australia , working on topics relating to concrete applications in commercial projects. Daksh is a Fellow of The Institution of Engineers, Australia , and past Chairman of its Sydney Division, Civil and Structural Engineering Panel. He is National President of the Concrete Institute of Australia for the 2005 to 2007 term. He is an Honorary Associate of the University of Sydney and past chairman of the National Technical Committee of the Australian Pre-Mixed Concrete Association. With PhD and masters degree qualifications in civil engineering, he is the author of over 70 research papers into aspects relating to concrete materials, structural design, and concrete durability and serviceability in major infrastructure. |

Dr. Vijay Joshi
Dr. Vijay Joshi has been instrumental in the utilisation of various slag products for major projects including Sydney Airport 's Third Runway and more recently the North Kiama by-pass, south of Wollongong. His expertise includes structural design, construction of slag roadbases and asphalt applications for slag materials spanning more than 20 years. Vijay has developed slag products which are widely used by the NSW RTA and his contribution for adaption of specification for slag materials is well recognized by the industry. Vijay has been invited by number of countries including Japan where he was adviser to Govt. of Japan for optimum slag utilisation. A doctorate from The University of Wollongong currently working as a Product Manager with ASMS. |

Colin Cressdee
Colin Cresdee has worked in fields associated with pavement for 30 years. He has worked for the RTA and road construction contractors. He has experience in development of quarries, production and control of pavement materials, pavement design, construction management and control, specification and performance monitoring. His present duties includes working with suppliers to develop innovative pavement materials that include recycled materials and industrial by-products such as slags, power station ash and quarry wastes. |

Robin Mellon
Robin is Technical Manager at the Green Building Council of Australia, where the Technical Team develops the Green Star rating tools to assess the sustainability of a range of buildings from Office to Healthcare. The Credits and Categories used to assess projects which seek to gain the coveted 4-, 5- and 6 Green Star awards cover issues such as construction materials and resources, energy and waste. The GBCA is striving to develop a more sustainable property industry for Australia and drive adoption of green building practices through market-based solutions; the Green Star rating tools with support from Sponsors, Members and Stakeholders ensure the GBCA is at the forefront of sustainability and provide the momentum to raise the benchmarks for best practice within the construction industry. Robin is currently steering the production of a rating tool for Industrial property and teaches the Green Star Accredited Professional courses held around Australia; he brings to the GBCA a broad knowledge of the international property market, a passion for sustainability and extensive experience of working in Landscape Management within Australia. |
