Award Opportunity for Students

Since 2000, the Association has conducted an education award program open to any students undertaking Honours or Masters Studies [ Tapping Slag from the Blast Furnace ] - Click to Enlargeover a calendar year. The award is open to an applying institution.

 

The award along with a cash prize will be awarded at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) conducted in March each year in Sydney.

 

Typically, there are two awards (dependent on the quality of submitted papers) including a cash prize of $1,000 each. The two awards may be split between Universities located in differing states for papers based on the theme of “Excellence and innovative use of slag materials in construction applications.”

 

All submitted papers will be assessed by our Technical Committee in collaboration with various faculty staff and final notification will be in Jan of the following year to the successful winners.

 

Qualifying Students and Submission Requirements
  • Honours or Masters students may apply
  • Synopsis should be submitted no later than 31st August (preferred format- digital e.g. MS Word, Rich Text, or Adobe PDF)
  • Typed papers must be submitted no later than 30th November (preferred format- digital e.g. MS Word, Rich Text, or Adobe PDF)
  • The papers must be original work and not previously submitted or published
